LeapFrog Tag Activity Storybook: Disney The Princess and the Frog - I purchased it for a little girl whose is in kindergarden, and whose parents are a very busy and unavailable to spend time teaching her to read. One of the parents mentioned her daughter's interest in learning how to read. I already had an earlier version of Leap Frog products,which I had purchased for a nephew so i decided to introduce Leap Frog and the Tag system to her. I knew this child was already motivated and just needed the right tools and encouragement. I presented her with several gift wrapped presents on Xmas eve. You had to be there to see this, she took the packages from her mother,and instead of waiting until Xmas she immediately grabed the Leap Frog, ripped opened the gift wrapped package and in literaaly minutes she sat down and was demonstrated how it should be used. She uses it daily and told her mother this was best xmas ever. She loves her Leap frog and tag sysyem its very user friendly for both parent and child. It also encourages learning, progressive growth in vocabulary as well as independance fom having to ask her parents,"what, this word say mommy "the Leap Frog does it all. VTech Infant Learning Rhyme and Discover Book

VTech Infant Learning Rhyme and Discover Book - We got two of these Vtech Rhyme & Discover Books for our twins last Xmas (Dec. 2008), and they played with these at least half an hour at a time, several times a day. At 10 months later the kids (now a little over 2 years old) still play with them regularly, anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes a day, sometimes more.
The books have been smeared by sticky hands and wipe clean well, and they have been dropped countless times without damage. Just recently, 10 months later, we have changed the batteries (two AAAs) in one of the books, and the other one is still going on the batteries that came inside it.

The pros are:

• Price (you get lots of bells and whistles for this amount of money) and batteries included
• Durability
• Cleanability
• Visually interesting (Four panels or "pages," for a total of seven different pictures/sides to look at, plus a couple of two-sided movable pieces that make sound effects, and three light-up "tab" buttons in the shape of a lamb, kitten and puppy, each with their own sound effects)
• Huge musical variety -- some songs have a couple bars of vocals and some are just instrumental
• ("Ring around the rosie," "Twinkle twinkle little star," "Mary had a little lamb," "Little Bo Peep," "Hey diddle diddle," "Bingo," "Three little kittens," "This is the way we ...," "Old McDonald had a farm," "The farmer in the dell," "Rockabye baby," "This old man," "London Bridge is falling down," "Three blind mice," "Sur le pont d'Avignon")

The cons:

• The on-off switch has two volume choices, but the louder option is a little too loud for young ears. The lower volume is fine, and it would be nice if toy makers would put the volume switch somewhere less accessible to the child. My kids, and the ones I've babysat, all seem to like to crank the volume to the highest setting, and the highest setting seems as though it has the potential to damage hearing over the long term. (This is a problem with many toys, and not unique to this one.)
• It would be nice to have the entire song for some musical selections, but it's not a huge minus considering how many songs are included

Overall, based on my kids' experience with this toy, I would recommend this to my friends and/or give as a gift. -- by Phoebe Oh

Then one day on my Amazon searches I discovered Ravensburger puzzles! I adore this company. All of their puzzles are so gorgeous and different. You will not find pictures like this anywhere else. Durability is a plus as well. I find that Ravensburger puzzles have a different and thicker feel to them. There is no fear of peeling the picture off of the actual piece. The colors are bright, use is easy for little ones, and they are so much neater than fingerpaints. Our child does different kinds of art with these paints than she does with any other kind of paint or markers. She can "dot" the paint or use them somewhat like markers. She has even used paintbrushes to soak the paint from the tops and paint. I have never had trouble washing the regular Rainbow colors off kids or clothing; however, I have had trouble washing the fushcia florescent color of this paint out of a white cotton dress that my child played in for 2 hours after painting. Faint fuschia stains remain. I recommend washing off paint immediately after use, and putting clothing in water to soak or wash immediately after.
